Connie Darville is Joy's mother and Buzz's wife.

Before Season 1[]

Connie's mother - Joy's drunk, racist grandma - told Joy that all three of them came from a long line of chain smokers, cheaters and liars ("Darnell Outed (Part 1)").

Connie and Buzz Darville were married and gave birth to Joy. They had a waterbed store; the only one in the county. Connie developed a gambling problem and faked diabetes so that she could get money to spend on gambling ("White Lie Christmas").

Season 1[]

Buzz and Connie came down to visit Joy, and were shocked to see Earl, who Joy had told them was fighting in Iraq. When they were alone she explained that her father was a racist, so she could not tell him that she was married to Darnell. Earl lied for several days, but then the truth came out when Connie, who had supposedly lost the use of her legs, admitted to having a gambling problem and had stolen lots of money from their waterbed shop to accodate her problem.

After she lost the car that Earl had got for Joy for Christmas through gambling before they came home and unfortunately the truth came out in unexpected ways they never thought of, such as Darnell was actually Joy's second husband, and Buzz who not only cheated on Connie, but wasn't always a racist because he had multiple extra-marital multiracial affairs with dozen other black women. She and Buzz left after alll four of them argued the whole night about who got the worst secrets then the other one, and finally forgave each other and spend the Christmas morning together with their grandsons Dodge and Earl Jr. and all is well for them.
